If you would like to find out what skills are needed to become a community leader and how you can build on your knowledge, please come along to our informal, friendly meetings.

Domestic Violence at a glance:

  • 1 in 4 women will experience domestic violence at some point in her life
  • Women are more likely to be victim of repeated incidents of domestic violence
  • Women are more likely to have experiences all types of intimate violence (partner abuse, family abuse, sexual assault) since the ages of 16
  • BME women face higher levels of post separation abuse

  Domestic Violence at a glance:

  • Provide refreshments at group meetings
  • Help facilitate a relaxed and social atmosphere
  • Arrange a sessional coordinator for the group activities
  • Source speakers; speakers will be drawn from a range of professional fields and will address the group on issues such as
    • community representation
    • leadership structures
    • social justice
    • professional opportunities and human rights
    • Money matters
    • Legal matters
    • Health advise and Yoga Classes
    • Visa and travel advise
    • And many more such needs for the community
